Working with a major main contractor on a new block of high end apartments in Maidenhead. The contractor came to Safesite for advice and to look at options to keep the residents and visitors safe whilst walking around a raised pavement around the front and back of the building. On both sides of the pavement there was risk of people failing down.

On the front of the building there was another requirement set by the contractor for an aesthetically pleasing solution in keeping with the development.

After meeting with the contractor and surveying site Safesite suggested to installing bowtop railings in the areas most visible at the front of the apartment block in black which would keep pedestrians safe and would fit in with surroundings. 1.1m high bowtop on the large drop and 600mm high to protect window ventilation. On the steps, bowtop handrails were fabricated to fit.

Around the back of the building the contractor had a similar issue but due to this area not being visible a more cost effective option was required. Safesite offered Keyclamp as a suitable product this included handrail down to a utilities store and a bespoke fire access gate for emergencies.

Safesite completed all works within the contractors budget and on time.
