Acoustic & Security Screening: Noise-Reduction Fencing for Hospital Facilities

  • Residential Proximity: Two sides of the planned compactor compound directly bordered residential properties, making noise suppression a critical priority to meet environmental noise standards.

  • Budget Optimization: The remaining two sides faced non-residential, internal hospital grounds where high-performance acoustic baffling was unnecessary.

  • Equipment Access: The front of the compound required a wide, secure entry point to allow waste collection vehicles and hospital facilities staff easy access to the machinery.

The Safesite Solution: Hybrid Acoustic & Closeboard Enclosure

To balance sound reduction, site aesthetics, and overall project costs, Safesite implemented a tailored hybrid fencing strategy:

  • 3m Acoustic Fencing (Residential Sides): Along the two boundaries facing local homes, Safesite installed heavy-duty, 3-meter-high acoustic timber fencing. These specialized sound-absorptive panels reflect and damp the low-frequency noise generated by the compactor, protecting neighboring residents from disturbance.

  • 3m Closeboard Fencing (Non-Residential Sides): For the two interior-facing sides, Safesite installed 3-meter-high closeboard (feather-edge) timber fencing. This provided a seamless visual match to the acoustic panels while delivering a practical, budget-conscious screening solution.

  • 3m x 4m Double Mesh Access Gate: To secure the front of the compound, Safesite installed a robust 3m high by 4m wide double leaf mesh gate, offering wide clearance for machinery maintenance and waste collection lorries.
